This month’s cover model, Alex, is a joyful three-year-old whose days are filled with play, curiosity, and the special bond he shares with his big brother, Teddy. Featured through a collaboration between Positive Exposure and PRISMA, Alex is part of What’s Your Thing?—an exhibition that celebrates individuality by highlighting the passions, perspectives, and humanity that make each person unique.

Alex’s story is also one of love, advocacy, and growth. After receiving a rare diagnosis, his family sought connection, resources, and support to better understand how to help him thrive. With early intervention and community care, Alex made remarkable strides in communication, growing from nearly nonverbal to speaking in short sentences, expressing his needs, and connecting even more deeply with the people around him.

As this month’s cover reminds us, every child has their own way of moving through the world—and every one of those ways deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated. Through Alex’s bright spirit and his family’s commitment to inclusion, his story reflects the power of community, understanding, and the beauty of human difference.
