The Makom Haggadah!

MAKOM

The cover for the book "The Makon Maggadah A Celebration of Passorver"

There are so many ‘moments’ in the lifespan of an organization...

Beginning a couple, nearly three years ago, Makom began work on a Haggadah that engaged people we support in meaningful, lively Seder services. There are a gazillion Haggadot out there, but the vast majority are inaccessible to people with a range of learning differences and disabilities.

Makom brought together a group of folks—people we support, subject matter experts, scholars, Rabbis, families, and staff—to imagine a Haggadah that was accessible. With support (and unbelievable encouragement) from The Sara & Matthew Simon Family Fund for Judaic Programming, this vision has become reality!

Celebrate Passover with an inclusive Haggadah created specifically with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in mind. This accessible guide to the Passover Seder helps participants engage with the traditions, prayers, stories, songs, and rituals of Passover in a way that is meaningful and easy to follow.

Designed to support greater inclusion and participation, this Haggadah creates an opportunity for everyone to be an active part of the Seder experience. Whether celebrating with family, friends, or a community, it helps make the Passover table a place where everyone can learn, participate, connect, and celebrate together.
